Doreatha A. Reid was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming and raised in Chicago, Illinois. In 1981, she moved to Youngstown, Ohio and again to Columbus, Ohio in 1996, where she continues to reside. Doreatha retired from Huntington National Bank in 2006 after 11 years of service as a manager and bank officer. From 2008 to 2018, she worked in various roles at her home church, New Covenant Believers Church.

During her work at the church, she began to adhere to the call that God had placed on her life. She started pursuing a deeper understanding of God's word. Doreatha enrolled at Ashland Theological Seminary in Columbus, OH where she received a certificate in African American Studies. Soon after, she was accepted to the Master of Divinity program with a focus on Pastoral Counseling. While in school, Doreatha accepted a position at OhioHealth Hospital as an Interim Chaplin in Mansfield, OH for over 2 years.

Doreatha earned a Master’s Degree in Christian Ministries, which enabled her to pursue the second part of her calling, serving the forgotten homeless population in the streets of Columbus, Ohio. In August 2014, she founded BBless2 Outreach Ministries, Inc. which serves this community. While Doreatha was still working a full-time job, BBless2 began to grow beyond her imagination. BBless2 received generous donations of two cargo vans to transport clothing and essential goods and two mobile units in 2015 at a local mobile park. Today, the ministry uses the units to house working individuals and their families who are transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing. Lastly, BBless2 received its 501 (c)(3) status in 2015.

Doreatha has a passion to assist those that are forgotten, overlooked, and misunderstood. She left her full-time job at New Covenant Believers’ Church in December 2018 to allow God to develop BBless2 Outreach Ministries, Inc. Today, Doreatha continues to be excited and expectant about what God is doing. At this time, BBless2 has three mobile homes, two cargo vans all of which were donated to the ministry.

Doreatha is deeply acquainted with the intimate knowledge that God has a heart to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give water to the thirsty, visit the sick and those who are in prison. She realizes this is the calling God has placed on her life and is committed to living this calling out each day.
